    I captured this image along Blackpoint Wildlife Drive in Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, Merritt Island, Florida. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

    Nikon 500mm F/5.6 VR AF-S ED PF, handheld sitting on top of banking leading to the water
    1/1250 F/5.6 Matrix Metering EV +1 ISO 6400 Auto 1 WB, image captured at 500mm (750mm 35mm Equivalent)
    Post processed in Lightroom Classic, Photoshop CC 2022 and Neat Image for noise reduction

    Nice shot I like the pose and colours, a little use of clarity/Texture enhances detail in the bill.

    Nice portrait but a little tight for my taste. Maybe could use some selective sharpening on the bill tip.
    Very subtle colors.

    Joseph: Very nice...great pose and clarity. I'm fine with the tight crop here, although I can understand others finding it a bit tight. The image does look a bit "gritty" on my monitor, looks like noise to me.

    I'm OK with the crop. I'm with Paul in that it looks a little noisy.

    I too like the boxy crop and I also see the grittiness on the feathers ... Not sure what that is.
