A rarity for our area, to the point that it took us awhile to ID it. First spotted by my friend Andy, the bird posed nicely for several minutes while we scratched our heads and ruled out all reasonable alternatives. Then Andy took an iPhone shot from the camera LCD, and Merlin instantly identified the species. Always fun to get a new bird.
D500, Sigma 150-600C, ISO 2500, 1/3200s @ f/ 6.3 manual. HH. Cloned out several distracting stems.
Great find for NJ. The image is nicely done even with the light from our right. Sharp with a very nice head angle and a sweet BKGR.
with love, artie
