Jon, a nice and pleasing image. Nice that you actually got some sun - how many days per year do you actually get sun there?

Your choice of comp is good from my view. The fall feel is nice and the berries are a great compliment to the frame. The dorsal view shows the plumage nicely.

Unfortunately the head angle appears just away from parallel but it's close - the catchlight and likely the angle of the sun just add to the effect.

Hi Jon, nice one and you retained some fine detain in the plumage.

As the perch is a prop, I would clip the stalk of the decaying berry on th LHS and try and blend the three visible cut marks on the facing side. I know you will say that was how it was shot, but a sliver more at the foot would be nice.

Adding a small RGB curves teak and a mid tone adj just adds a wee bit more of a pop, especially in the blacks of the plumage.

Thanks Steve point taken and I did consider doctoring the perch, (didn't look good) the "cut" marks are not cut marks at all they are entirely natural, I agree regarding the base and I'll take another look see at the curves - thanks for commenting.

Great, just at that size it's hard to judge, thanks for clarifying.
