    White-faced Heron, making a getaway as my kayak strays dangerously close to the shore. :D Owaka River - Otago, New Zealand. This was one of many that day (today, actually) in which the bird is captured with half its body in mid-air to the left of the frame...

    This is funny, Paul.
    I know you don't like to do much to your images, but burning (an old darkroom technique) the green leaf mid top, will improve this.

    I always enjoy this sort of image (perhaps because I've made so many:)) -- gives me a chuckle. I call this category "Parting Shots".

    Thanks all! I did manage to get a few decent shots, but they really aren't worth posting. Cluttered background in all like this one. I just took them as a spur of the moment thing,
