Default Polar Bear cub in pack ice

Can't remember if this has been posted or not, but here is a young Polar bear cub, following Mum, but he has to work harder in the forming pack ice. Mum can just leap across onto more stable pack ice, sadly this wee fellow hasn't quite got the distance and tended to hit the water more, then haul himself out, dripping wet with the cold water.

Thanks to those who posted or viewed on the last posting.

    Dear Steve,

A very good evening to you
Don't think you've posted this before... For me the first 'action shot' when it comes to Polar Bears, so thank you so much for sharing

Techs look good (as usual) and framing is spot on. Well exposed. The young Bear stands out beautifully, great detail and sharpness and I really like the (leaping) pose. Superb colours and tones. Happy to see you allowed for the virtual limbs, great composition.

Overall image looks great, love it. Must say, you have that which what separates an experienced photographer from an amateur, always prepared no mater what the circumstances and you also have the capability of delivering a technically perfect image, no matter what the challenge.

Really enjoyed viewing and I hope you have an awesome weekend,

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Thank you Gabriela and a good evening to you too.

Happy to see you allowed for the virtual limbs, great composition.
Just pre planning in putting the FP in... 'hopefully' the right place, so when you put the subject in frame, the FP is correctly in the right place, on the eye/face. At f/5.6 it should give enough to defuse the BKG, but helpful have the subject parallel to the camera.

Must say, you have that which what separates an experienced photographer from an amateur
Not sure about that , but thank you.

PS Hope you didn't get caught up in any traffic jams tonight, have a great weekend. BTW Peter has a Z9 on order, he wouldn't listen , might see him Sunday.

    Many thanks for reply, Steve.

Hope you have a wonderful week-end!

PS Traffic jam was there but I managed to avoid it by choosing a new path. On my way to work in a few minutes so will see what 'obstacles' I have to deal with this morning

Ive never seen a polar bear (or any bear) in the wild however surely this image is about as good as a wildlife image can get.
