The yellowlegs (both species) were really fun this year, and provided lots of great opportunities. Here's a "Lesser" that was patrolling the blue waters of the river. This one had the most amount of yellow on its bill that I've ever seen for a Lesser, and had it not been on the company of a couple of Greaters I would have been stumped for a bit.

Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/2500s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, contrast and saturation to taste, small crop for comp.

Ooh for light like this... The lights & darks hassled very well, love the raised leg and the 'dreamy' blue water. The yellow of the legs really pops agains the sea. The small of whispey waves is rather cool I think.

Excellent fram, Dan! Wide blue comp is great, and those namesake legs suck us right in. Loving the low angle as well. Super dreamy!

Nice one Dan. Love the POV, the light and the raised foot.
