Osprey rising after missed strike — re-crafted as a vertical

This image was created on 18 October 2021 at Sebastian Inlet, FL. I used the hand held Sony FE 600mm f/4 GM OSS lens with the Sony FE 1.4x Teleconverter and The One, the Sony Alpha 1 Mirrorless digital camera (while standing –double gasp!). ISO 1000. Exposure determined via Zebras with ISO on the rear dial: 1/3200 sec. at f/5.6 (wide open) in Manual mode. RawDigger showed that this exposure was perfect. AWB at 88am on a variably sunny morning.

Tracking: Zone AF-C was active at the moment of exposure and performed perfectly. Click on the image to see a larger version.

You can see the original image in the blog post here.

As for the image, don't be shy. I'd love to hear from everyone who views the photo.

    with love, artie

Oh yes, I love this. The background is indeed perfect, and the subject not too shabby as well. A very "seaside" feel here, well worth the processing you did on it.

Thanks, Arash. You are correct about the bill :(. HHing the SONY 600 is not easy for me but I am getting better with practice.

Look at you, handholding the 600! I wasn't sure I was going to like this from the thumbnail, but the bird's upward gaze really justifies the crop with lots of room above. Pose is really nice, and the softly graded background looks great.
