Young Gun

At the inlet of Chatfield Reservoir in South Denver and a trail walker pushed this juvenile Wood Duck drake up the inlet to me. Thankful to have been poised and ready to shoot.

looks great, love the underside view and the flight angle, nice BG too. I find the contrast a bit high from the strong light at a very slight angle but all else is on the money

Love the wings-up pose. The underwing detail is great. The bright yellows in the LLC draw the eye from the bird. The face looks quite grungy to me ...

Hi Brian ... lovely frame .
All does work well for me .
The colors are nice and sweet , the flying pose with enough space for the bird .
The BG looks good to me and the yellows are adding some variation to it , might change the hue at some point ...as an option .
Nice work Amigo

Such an interesting plumage - he's almost there! Bird looks great. Exposure and details are money, especially on the underwing. Autumn BG is a nice touch too. I can hear the comments about the contrast but it's more personal taste than anything else as far as I'm concerned.
