Ho Jon, I like the concept, but I think you are selling yourself short.
Would like to see perhaps where the subjects are a bit more prominent, and more clarity/detail. As presented, it appears a bit soft to me, the shadows are heavily clipped (also hides a nice bug) and what appears tp be poor masking, ie top of the backdrop to the log, around the LH stem... Not sure the blue in the shadows helps or not.
I know I wasn't there, but just my take Jon in another direction perhaps.

Steve thanks for the repost, Hmm, I'll take another look, you have certainly made a vast improvement- vast!
Jon, I have no idea if I did, or didn’t, I just think there is a nice germ of an idea, and just a little more gentle PP, this could be very interesting. When you have a minute, look up Guy Edwards - inspiration….

I can see why they call it porcelain fungus. I do like the mushrooms on the right trapped in the log. I do some halos around the stems. I'm sure you know that though.
