Waiting for some Osprey action today, and after a couple of hours this one flew out from some nearby trees very close to me. Luckily I was able to get a few shots. This is my favourite.

    D500/500PF, 1/3200th sec@f5.6, iso1000, manual mode HH. Cheers.

I like the action and head turn Paul but I'm not a fan of the cropped wing format, not that you could do anything about it I suppose. The beak intersecting the wing is also a bummer.
    They are certainly great aerialists!

I wish the wings were perfect and the depth of field was greater...TFS

Thanks Colin and Sasan. As stated, the Osprey "came out of nowhere", so I was lucky to get a few shots...considering how close it was. Yes, it would have been nice to get the whole bird, but in any case I do like it as is...very minor crop here for balance of composition. I do think this pose is a little different from the normal Osprey images I see here, so I'm always trying for something different.
Sasan: Osprey was too close to get more depth of field, and I was at f5.6 at the time. Perfect wings? Is there such a thing?

My English writing is not good, I meant all the wings

Nothing wrong with the "cut don't clip" composition here IMO, and I like the variated BG. The bill-tip gets a bit lost in against the dark feathers, not much to be done there. Personally I think this is one of your stronger images, it really draws me in.
