    First time I have shot birds in 2 months.
    Local pond this morning as Duck season has arrived in the local ponds..
    Male Wood Duck.

    Dan, glad you got to get back out and shoot. 2 months is a pretty good hiatus....

    I was able to shoot Woodies here this week also. Doesn't get old.

    Like this one, super calm green water is sweet. Pretty iridescence on the hood feathers. Reflection works.

    As a personal matter I'd take just a touch less contrast and would lessen the brights a touch.

    And I too got some beautiful Woodies last week - it's the season! Good low angle, but also high enough to get a good reflection. Just a bit more head angle may have given you some purple hues on the cheek - but these guys have so many colours already!

    beautifully executed frame, stands out against dark BG. yes to a bit lower contrast and maybe pulling some details out selectively in the balacks
