I had too much fun with this species this past fall migration. A species that is considered uncommon for us, so always a bonus to come across cooperative individuals like I had this year. This one was photographed just before the sun rose above the tree line behind me.

Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/400s., f/5.6, ISO 1600, natural light, handheld, FF, a few imperfections removed from the surroundings, contrast and saturation to taste, usual eye work.

Superb point of view Daniel, and perfect framing. Nice head angle and lovely colours as well as details on this little bird.

Well exposed and good choice of aperture, nicely processed. A very attractive image and I enjoyed viewing, thank you so much for sharing!

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Just as nice as any Daniel. Beautiful orange and blue bkg transition, sweet pose.

The low angle is rad man and composition is just right. No nits here.

Superb. Love everything about it - pose, POV, light, the sliver of in-focus beach from f/5.6 choice. A nemesis bird for me (one of many).

You gotta love pre-dawn light! Aother stunner. I love that we can see most of the feet. The BKGR colors are sublime.
