    Default Acorn being - corny

Funny flight pose for this guy. Had to clear away from bkg junk below bird and lower left corner.

You're getting good opportunities with these woodpeckers and magpies. I have been enjoying the images, nice work, keep them coming. Thank you for sharing.

Jay, was this one in the series with the frame you posted a few weeks ago? Similar head pose it seems.

Love wing position and the ripples on the primaries. Great eye contact.

Are you able to post a little larger? It would help be able to accurately critique the processing and get a look at the details.

If you rotated this one, you may have over cropped I think - see the black clipping in the LRC.

    Thanks Brian.

Yeah, I wish I had more pixels to go larger with. 1400x900 is all I have.
Actually this is a different shot than the prior one - in a different park as well. It wasn't as bright on this day so it's darker/noisier.
The face is nice and detailed on this one but front wings were too close to keep still it seems.
Yup, last minute decision to rotate a bit bit me in the butt. Thanks. I've fixed it on the original.
I really liked the body positioning on this one - but the rest of it is just OK - IMO.
    Cheers.

Yup... large as in, large crop. As head was quite in focus the bird itself held up quite well I thought.

Wow that’s just 1.2 mega pixels. Out of 50 mega pixel. That’s 2% of the frame… too much cropping my friend ;)

Here you go. This is just the raw conversion from C1P. Obviously I stamped out the post and adjusted brightness/contrast etc.

Oh hey, Arash I see you comment just before this. Yeah - too much cropping - I hear ya - but in this spot that's about as close at they let me get (though I could have stuck on a TC)... it's not as good a location for acorn as Sycamore Grove (this was Del Valle). But, even with the crop... I thought the detail isn't too bad.

it doesn't add up .... A1 image is 8640 pixels wide, so the crop above is at least 3000 pixels wide. it is no possible for it to be 1400 pixels.... you said the image was 1400 pixels after crop, I reckon that was a mistake ?

    cheers

Hmm... not sure, Arash. I just did my crop from the FF image and imported into PS and then checked the image size in PS. It gave me 1410x919.

I looked at the raw this image is 4000 pixels after cropping as expected

I think your export settings are messed up big time, C1P is shrinking the file when sending the file to PS likely severely degrading the IQ....
