I am not at all sure what this little mushroom is but it was 2mm tall, I used the 60mm macro lens and 2 extension tubes. It took me several attempts to get the whole of the stem in focus. This is 55 stacked images during my attempts I made 100 stack and 200 stack only to find I had not got the optimal magnification to start with. I deliberately underexpose to ensure the whites were not blown, they are far from that and yet the surface of the little mushroom still looks bright - must be in part dur to contrast. I am hoping more little mushrooms will grow and I will be able to get a more pictorial aspect to show. Looking at the lower front edge of the dome, I am not sure if I really nailed the nearest point of focus.
Wow, pretty and dainty...so delicate looking...love it. I would just darken the white (bright spot) in the BG, to the left of the mushie. Framing is spot on. Your hard work paid off, Jon. I think it's awesome
Gabrilea, I did darken that one down - but I agree in this case not quite enough. (I took three attempts at the stack and when I got the white blobs under control I noted I didn't have the base of the mushie in focus!) I have retained the branch, I think those spots are new little mushies on their way.
Jon, I actually went back to look a number of times, really like this, the mushie stands out so well against the dark BG - and looks like a little umbrella too - brilliant
PS If those are little baby mushies coming up then I hope you go back and take some more pics
