Hi all. Here's another Crested tern, this time with its prey (unsure what type of fish?). I would have liked more separation between its head and the prey, but that's life

With the bird turning and facing away we have no idea if it is holding a fish or a ?? or a piece of plastic trash ... This is an insta-delete for me.

Hi Artie: Definitely a fish (according my wife...the tail is in its beak). However, with the bird facing away, I agree with you.

A nice moment. But do wish for a better angle over all.

Hi Paul ... for sure an unusual catch .
Shooting angle not ideal , as you said yourself . Other than that it does look alright .
Regarding the fish ... I try to guess , I would say this is either a surgeon fish or butterfly fish species . Looking at the form of the fins .....I would more it could be a surgeon .
