I wish the flower were better in this image, but I was happy to even get a Magnificent hitting a flower (they never seem to). This was from this summer (July) before I got the A1, so shot with my A9II. I also wish I had more light, but it was an overcast morning. Had to bump up my ISO.

The subject and perch look great! Cool to see such a beautiful turquoise gorget, very nice. Good wing position, and overall composition. The BG has good colour and tonality, but it is a bit noisy - the high ISO is surely the culprit, but easily tamed in post.

Hi Kurt....I agree with Dan.....Lovely detail on the bird and a great pose...The BG does look like there is a lot of noise, which I am sure you can fix this with some NR....The subject looks perfectly exposed with lovely colours. A 'clean' BG would surely take this up a notch...

I'm so jealous when I see these Hummer photos. Not sure I'm ever going to see one in real life (crazy world at the moment eh?). Love everything about this one Kurt, pose, sharpness, flower and colours. BG noise easily fixed as stated. but certainly not a deal breaker for me as is. TFS

Kurt, this is really nice man. Wish we could have gotten more of them to pose this way while we were down there.

The body and wing position are just about perfect. I love the eye contact and nicely processed on the subject.

Yeah, just a little bkg noise but you did the best you could. Did you try playing with the HSL sliders RE the reds, in LR?

    Congrats, a winner for me!

Hi Kurt ... a bit late , but I want to say it is such a cool shot .
IQ on the subject does look quite nice , just think the BG is a bit busy with some artifacts ( whatever that is ) .
Colors are matter of taste , I personally might have chosen overall warmer color grading .

    TFS Andreas
