    Photographed in afternoon light using my new KwikCamo blind in Kentucky Forest, southern New South Wales.

    Canon 40D, EF500 f/4 + 1.4 tc, tripod, evaluative, ISO400 1/200, f/7.1, vertical crop from horizontal.

    Pretty bird, great light, exposure control, perch and BG. I might sharpen the beak a bit more and remove the sharpening halo on head and back. Thanks for sharing!

    Beautiful bird Simon and great eye contact. Agree with Axel's suggestion about sharpening the beak and removing the halo. Nice job!

    Hi Simon. I remember a previous image that you post from a very close species and I have to say that the processing of this image is highly improved compared to that. Much, much better tnow, you extracted more information from the blacks, withes and reds :) Well done

    Great suggestions from above. Beautiful image and I like the wonderful color and detail as well as a lovely pose and perch. IMO I would like to see a little more canvas on the left. Many thanks for sharing.

    Striking colours and details here Simon, I support the comments above. Three very strong colours here and you have managed to maintain detail in all of them. Iike the perch, and composition, I think it would also work with more room to the right.
