    Although not it's typical habitat, this Western Tanager image was taken during migration in southern California. It's cropped for calendar use so I know it's too centered.

    MarkIIN, 600 (non IS), 1.4X, 200 ISO, AV no compensation, F10

    Hi Bill,

    Gorgeous bird and light. The background is lovely but wish you had moved the camera down and yourself right for better framing.
    As is now, maybe a bit of crop on the left will improve it.

    Great exposure and the right amount of sharpness for my taste, congratulations :)

    Great setting, exposure control and details. What a beautiful bird. Just a slight crop off the left would make this even better.

    This is a gorgeous little bird and you've captured her in great light. The off-center look would improve this (as others have said); that withstanding, you've got real nice image here.
