This wasn't a set up but it was in the back garden, I saw the light glancing on these juveniles so I grabbed my camera and sneaked round the back of the garden shed.

I really like the dried up thistle, the position of both birds is really nice and you have really good detail on both birds. I do find the OOF thistle in the left corner a bit distracting though.

Hi Jon, well worth the effort. The dried thistle makes a interesting perch, nice detail and colors, pleasing background, nice image. I go back and forth regarding removing the out of focus thistle in the lower left hand corner. Thank you for sharing.

Jon, love the evenly lit subjects on the darker backdrop. And getting both of these suckers in place with an interesting perch, well done!

I like this canvas from a purity standpoint but also might have tried evicting the lower bloom and then shifted things left a touch. I also get that you're more of a purist so... :-)

Anyhow, well done for what it is!

Looks good Jon....I like your crop...the position of the birds with nice HA's is nice....Great perch and BG...I wished they weren't molting, the red on the face would look perfect here....

Nice pose on both birds. I like the way the top bird is gripping that teasel.
