Greater Yellowlegs With Tidbit.

It's not often I get a yellowlegs posing for a second with a morsel in its bill, so I was happy when this one did just that. A raised foot would have been bonus, but the faint concentric circle from where the prey-plucking occurred is a nice consolation prize IMO.

Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II+ 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/200s., f/5.6, ISO 1600, natural light, handheld, FF, a few specks in the water removed, and usual contrast / saturation / tonality teaks to taste, but otherwise as seen.

Daniel, killer perspective with a calming effect on the water. Like the ripple effect on the rear wake and the food in mouth is mega.

Processing looks awesome. Do find myself wishing for a tad bit at the rear as it feels a tiny bit squeezed, however it makes sense how you ended up there with the rest of the composition.

I like everything about this one. I'm fine with the large-ein-the-frame image design. There is three to four times as much room from the bill tip to the frame edge than from the tail tip to the frame edge. That said, a bit more room behind the bird would be fine. I'm wondering if this image might need a bit of CW rotations that is the impression I get when looking at the foreground. With love, artie

Lovely low POV , superb soft tones and subtle colors . The catch is a great bonus .
Comp works very well .
Personally I am not 100 % on the WB or color .
Think it is a touch to blue/magenta , might be just me .

I love it, so clean! I do agree with Artie that a small CW rotation would make it feel more grounded. It may not technically need it, but I think it'd help visually.
