    Try preening a feather with a pair of barbeque tongs... American White Pelican, image captured at Lake Morton in Lakeland, Florida. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

    Nikon D500
    Nikon 500mm F/5.6 VR AF-S ED PF, camera and lens supported by a Oben carbon fiber monopod with a Wimberley MonoGimbal head
    1/2000 F/5.6 Matrix Metering EV +1/3 ISO 140 Auto 1 WB, image captured at 500mm (750mm 35mm Equivalent)
    Post processed in Lightroom Classic, Photoshop CC 2021 and Topaz Denoise AI
    Cropped for composition and presentation

    I love a good preening shot, and this fits the bill. Love the look of concentration in the eye. Lake Morton is a fantastic spot for the WPs.

    Just not keen on the vertical pano crop .... but you seem to like it , so I will leave that to you .

    Nice to see the feather in the bill. The pink bill is also very nice. Great detail on the pelican.

    Yes the crop looks exaggerated, but I think it works here.. It shows the bill nicely, and what a bill....Lovely colours and details throughout....All fits well with the BG colours...Well done Joe.

    Lovely image quality pleasing colours, the crop is a little unusual but I have to confess the more I look the more I like it.

    On the other hand, I'd really love to see a 3X2 crop of the bottom as that is where all the beauty and color is.
