Couldn't put the obvious title to this... so those who know the song will know the lyrics.

Shot from a slow moving zodiac, sadly they only open their eyes rarely, only to see what's happening and so being closed they are not threatened and feel comfortable with our presence and most importantly, our distance. Stretch beyond a meter more and they will all be off in a shot, one goes they all go.

Thanks to those who posted or viewed on the last posting.

Looks impressive, colours and details really good. He is looking pretty satisfied with life and undisturbed.

Not a lot of options with a fixed lens Jon and these animals are so easily spooked, but eyes open would have been nice. A rare day to have good light. Certainly a more challenging location than Churchill with it’s constant traffic of tundra buggies running back and forth.

Hi Steve .... good to see something different here , not a deer ...... I hope I can chime in today with something else ...

Regarding the image , well very cool to see and shoot the Walrus and you have rendered stunning colors and superb tonal range ... no surprise though , at least you are able to present a consistency on that front and I really enjoy that !!!!
Looking at your techs is making me wonder why you have chosen those settings ???!!
I think you did quite well under the given circumstances ... but the finest detail has suffered slightly .
The Walrus in front is not ideal ( albeit unavoidable ) and the snow/ice close to the head ... not ideal as well , but as said before sometimes we have to deal with certain things in nature .

Nevertheless a cool posting , TFS Andreas

In PS it always looks better, but that's not the point.

Just adds a bit more context, the white capped ice isn't an issue for me.

    We will await...

The walrus looks content with sitting there all day. The blue background is quite nice.

A very good evening to you Steve,

Love the title... they say John Lennon placed more emphasis on rhyme, rather than meaning Love your frame too, colours are stunning and some exquisite detail on the Walrus's face. Well composed with good proportion and great POV. Beautifully exposed.

Quite like the 'dormant' pose, portrays the subject as content and relaxed, don't mind the snow behind him, the blue sky is awesome. It amazes me how you always manage to make the best of any given 'situation' - in this case using the body of the walrus in the FG in the most effective way Took me a while to realise there's more than one character in the picture
You always give me something to think about which is why I enjoy viewing your images so much. Thank you Steve for sharing!

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea
