Nice low angle.. you have quite a bit of BG noise for iso800? Should be able to smooth it out with some NR.

Neat pose you got here, small plovers are fun that way aren't they!. Raised foot adds a lot. Good low angle. I agree about the noise...is this a big crop by any chance? I also find the colour (or lack of) a bit odd - was this intentional desaturation?

Thanks folks. I will go back and rework NR. Daniel it's near full frame and colo(u)r is pretty accurate.

Love the wing stretch and all the angles. The chicken pox BKGR? Not so much. Ran Topaz DeNoise/Low Light on Auto on the whole image and cleaned up the upper BKGR with Patch Tool and Content-Aware Fill. Used Divide and Conquer to eliminate the dark spot against the raised wing. All of the clean-up stuff is in Digital Basics II.

Hi Ian, I like the capture, but overall it just seems very flat/colour. Was the image under exposed to generate so much noise? The clean up is an improvement.

I wasn't there Ian, but just bring some life back in with a change to the: WB, Colour balance and sone simple White, HL tweaks starts to help IMHO.
