I too like the simplicity of the image, it makes a change to see some space in an image. My suggestion would be to lower the bird in the frame, keeping things otherwise the same.

I like it too. Just missing a catchlight or some type of reflection in the eye to give it life. I like the pale colours, comp, sharpeness.
