It is of course fabulous Arash. Much crop? And does the eye focus system work in that light? What a marvellous position you must have down therein SoCal at birds eye level.

I works for me Arash, as it gives that added 'depth' which is needed, you feel as if you are flying with the bird looking down. Having a flat/neutral BKG would be very boring and the image sterile looking.

Arash, quite a folio of Peregrines at this point. This one is nicely shown, super top view and great eye contact!

I like the browns in the bkg more than I dislike them. Shallow dof helps it tremendously and it's nice that the subject is flying into the lighter area.

Only suggestion I could offer is it seems you have quite a bit available in the lower 1/4 of the histogram to enhance some of the darker tones. For instance, just as a very quick perspective, load a levels adj layer and pull the bottom slider to 10 or 15 and see what you think. That's not necessarily the ultimate solution but something to assess.

I'd have this one in a heartbeat for myself.

    TFS.

Thanks Ian, it's about 60% of the FF. yes the AF works well, doesn't even break a sweat for this subject.

Thanks Brian, I thought about densifying the blacks but that's not how the real bird looks like so I didn't do it at the end. I like to keep the photo as close as possible to the original scene when possible

Spectacular dorsal view with the look-up-at-you head turn puts this one way over the top for me. Too bad "SONY sucks" and that the 200-600 is "the worst lens ever made. :)

This frame is not helping as I try to resist dumping my Canon gear for the a1 and 200-600. Very well done. BG is interesting an sufficiently blurred to add without distracting.

Not sure if a web image is the right reference for such important decision , IMHO , but we all see things differently

It’s not just a web image you seem to have no idea but please keep the discussion here to image critique. If you want to discuss gear use the other forum

    Ok here you go ....
the image as posted is ok .
Tone and and color is solid , but no reason to become excited about
Framing is good as is the subject , but nothing special for me personally .
IQ is solid good , but not impressive

Thanks for the bunch of bull **** that you posted above, whenever you learn how to make a bird photograph that's not an instant delete come back and I'll take your comments seriously. until then don't bother as it only makes you sound totally clueless

    good luck
