Thought I would post this, partly as both Sanjeev & Haseeb haven't had a chance to because of Covid 19 and I missed 'Tiger day' last week!

Thanks to those who posted or viewed on the last posting.

    Hi Steve ....
a nice shot with a relaxed looking Tiger .
Intersting to see you pushed tone and color , but I kinda like it to a great degree ... albeit I think the darks and the oranges are a bit too strong , personal taste .
Not much you can do about the two trees , but they are somehow distracting .
Love the fine details and sharpness rendered ... but that is no surprise
    Nice looking dappled light

Super shot Steve, details are outstanding, I do feel the orange is a bit OTT but nevertheless still pleasing to look at. The background doesn't matter much to me because the head is so engaging. Me eyes go to the tiger's eyes to the nose to the ears and back to the eyes - wow!
I like tigers but the LION is for me King of Beasts - sorry!

Thanks Andreas, the cats as you know go where they want so as you say, you have to accept things. Yep, push a bit more, as I wanted that, just a different route within LR.

Jon, you just haven’t met the right Tiger, this was a 30 month old female who was just gorgeous and if you were a male Tiger you wouldn’t be looking at Lions!!

Steve .... not only cats do what they want to do , all creatures do it . And every time we have to accept that and have to deal with distracting things in our images , unless we can move or they give us better opportunities . I am not having a real issue with this .... I still take the shots .

Superb capture Steve, tons of detail and beautiful colours. What lovely pose. And the light is stunning. Love it, well composed and presented, wish I could process like you

I have yet to see a tiger in the wild and fall in love with him... or her. But like Jon I am in still awe with, and obsessed with... lions

Thank you so much for sharing, have a wonderful rest of the week,

    Warmest regards,

You see Steve - we can't all be wrong!! Lions rule!!
Seriously though I recall watching a programme in which big cats were being compared and lions and tigers are essentially the same animal they just evolved in different surroundings so their coats changed but their basic anatomy is almost identical. Some lions bigger than tigers and some tigers bigger than lions and of course intra - species variations too.

Jon, for someone like yourself who’s whole working life was based very much on ‘the fact’, rather than assumption, I can’t accept Gabriela’s POV re Lions are best, as she has never seen a Tiger, therefore her ‘choice/vote’ is inadmissible.
I think you're clutching at straws here Steve, I have never seen a blue whale, I would love to but I would still prefer to see a lion close up.

I have seen tigers, they were kept in large enclosures - the place was close-by to where I live now but does not exist anymore, not sure what happened to them. It's not that I did not take to tigers, just had this obsession with lions since I can remember

Nice to see the tiger in the sun and background in the shade. Nice framing and pose as well.
