Although I've seen very young cubs, they have always been at a distance, but never has one so young come so close, absolutely gorgeous. This was from the fourth and last tour I did in the archipelago of Svalbard.

Thanks to those who posted or viewed on the last posting.

Apologist those who have already seen this image a while back in another format.

I don't recall it Steve but it looks just great, details tones and composition look just rinky tinky to me. That sounds simplistic but look in the fur and look at the claws and his nose - detail detail - great stuff well done. (the eyes aren't too shabby either!)

A stunner... simple and classy, cannot tell you how much I like it. You put a lot of thought into processing this. Love the framing here and detail is superb, the bear's coat has all those lovely nuances...aaaargh, and he stands out so nicely against that spotless background... such a neat image Steve, it's WOW for me

Indeed its a gorgeous sight Steve. I really like the way his front paws are positioned and he has such an inquisitive look on his face. Beautifull detail in the fur and in the snow, plus the high key look. Indeed, less is more. Just an ideea: since he is looking to his left, a bit more space to look into would be welcomed.

Thanks folks, indeed Dan, but replicating the ice pack would be an issue, even for me!!!!

Polar bear! Love the pose and the look on this little one's face. Very nice.
