I suppose Mallards count as common birds for most. This mother had seven ducklings under her wings, with this one keeping a watchful eye from just under the edge of mother's wing. Oh I wish the oof branch in lower left cornere was not there, but I hope the little duck's cuteness factor keeps your eyes on it rather than that branch.

Excellent. Really cute, the included moms feathers identify the species nicely and frame the head nicely.
Agree on the stick, might just clone stamp the broken end so it is the same color as the rest, won't stand out as much. Lower the contrast even further on the stick might help a bit as well
Well done Dan....Love this one...Getting the nice blues on the mother was neat....Lovely detail and colours throughout....and yes your correct...the cuteness wins big style against the oof stick....
Cute indeed Daniel! You made a memorable frame from a very common subject.
Love that you were able to integrate the blue speculum and the parts of the [primaries?] extending down frame the chick nicely. Great choice @ f10 and well done to compose in camera!
Love the image design and the speculum along with the duckling :) But like you, not the o-o-f branch in the LLC.
with love, artie
