    Default Prep'd for Flight

Not sure... is this a greater yellow-legs? Anyhoo, a frame from an outing earlier this week. TFL.

Least Sandpiper. Greater Yellowlegs is gray with bright yellow legs and is much, much larger. Beak is longer and straighter too.

Regardless this is a nice effort. Pose and details are excellent. BG is a bit busy, and light is a bit steep (but still usable). Looks like you got as low as you could. Not a lot of places around here to et the lens right nto the ground/water, unfortunately!

    Jay:

Agree with Dorian. Very interesting pose, good shooting angle.

Quite a strong yellow cast to the image. Yes, the background a bit of a challenge, esp. the area right above the head. I would take a pass at reducing the contrast and do a little clone stamp work to soften it further.

    Cheers

Wicked pose and sharp but downhill after that. In addition to the light areas in the background the bill intersecting with the algae (???) is less than ideal.

A nice wing strech for sure. Framing is right on.
