Lovely bkg, and great details. Love the pink beak.
Awesome details and colors with wonderful perch. The lower dark portion of BG a minor nit for me. This beauty got the full "Sump" treatment , for sure... TFS
Brian:
Like the color harmony of bird and background. Low shooting angle, pose perched on the snow, all good.
I might remove the tiny feather debris? off the back of the neck. (Nice detail resolution on that however!)
Cheers
Randy
DATPA. The dark strip in the background kills it for me. Is it a shadow?

Ditto Artie,
I love everything minus the dark band, if it were not possible to avoid it by moving I'd bite the bullet and remove it in post

Thanks Jay. I like the pink beak too!
Appreciate it David as always!
Hey Randy, thank you for chiming in. Generally I try not to remove native plumage but I do see a case for it here in a more close-up situation.
Thanks guys. Didn't think the black strip would be as negatively received but your points are noted and will take into consideration next time.
FWIW, the bkg was a ceder fence slat and the strip below was a gap between slats.
Ah, snow. What I would do for some snow right now. Nothing like some cold air in those lungs. A nice bird and a nice pose.
