    nice frame Dan, coold BG. the top of the head looks a bit grey to me, was it from exposure recovery?

    Dan: I like the full down pose with bit of a tilt towards use to show ventral details on the back wing, soft background.

    Perhaps a sliver more sharpening on the head.

    Flight shots of woodpeckers are not easy to come by ... That said, I am not sure what others are seeing. The bird's face here looks totally crunchy and I am not a fan of the near-wing position.

    Dan, I can so appreciate getting this Flicker in flight esp against a sweet, dark and rich bkg!

    Unfortunately the IQ on this one suffers greatly and just not working from my end. You possess the ability to get one sharp and with better detail I know...
