Default Theme: American Goldfinch on a pole

Could have used a smaller aperture... but well...

Love the details, color and BG. Perch is what it is. Looking at DOF, you were close and it is sharp where it needs to be. Like the framing as well. TFS

    Eric:

Soft light, well exposed, good pose. The trade off of smaller aperture would have been increased noise, so probably a good choice. If I have the time, I will cycle through a few different f/stops to try and hit the best balance of noise vs. DOF.

The perch is small enough and dark enough that I don't find it too distracting.

    Cheers

Eric, sweet pose with nice eye contact. I like the composition. The file appears super sharp with great details, nice going!

The perch is a little unfortunate. Looks like a sprinkler head?

Otherwise, it appears as though it's heavy on denoise/NR esp on the beak and neck feathers as well as the blacks in the wings. You might look at reducing that a touch and bringing back some texture there as a personal preference.

The bird looks great to me but could go a bit lighter. The perch is butt-ugly :(

The perch is what it is. I mean that's what the bird was on. I could see the exposure bumped up some.
