Gull looks great, abrupt 2 tone Bg is not ideal..

Love the light (and subtle shadows) and ocean/sky BG with sweet framing and details throughout. TFS

A dynamic pose here Will. Nice and sharp. My only nitpicks are I'm seeing some noise in the foreground and the light appears to be a little harsh.

Hi Will, again looks like an under exposed image, the grain is visible as per the previous. Are you shooting manual and Auto ISO?????

Will, I'm just sitting in the car killing time, and obviously on the laptop, but I wonder if you are missing something in the PP, just a thought, if I'm wrong just say so.

Hi Steve...Here is the RAW file...I am shooting manual, including ISO.....I think I have over processed the image...and also not getting the WB correct during processing has lead me in the wrong direction...I need to stick to my original workflow, as I am making it more complicated than it should be....

So many folk do Will, keeping it simple as I have always said is key, the more you do, the more you will get away from the original capture and become that deer caught in the headlights - not knowing which way to turn. Take an image, review, make any changes, take another, if all good, then just shoot without the fear of under/over exposure.

The OP was indeed a bit yellow, and noisy on the lower part of the frame, but I love the gull, its pose, and sharpness. I'm with DanK in regards to the abrupt 2-tone BG, but at least the horizon is crossing behind the subject in a good spot.
