    Default Granddaughter's Request...

EOS R6 Rf 100-500 @500 f8 1/1000 ISO 1600 HH, Manual EXP, copped for composition

I recently made a print for my grandson of the moon on the winter solstice from out in the everglades. They have just moved and his new room theme is space. It happened to arrive the week of his sisters 3rd birthday. On the birthday call I get; "Grampa, I want a flamingo for my room". Well, there are wild flamingos on the south tip of Florida but you need to canoe miles in the everglades to have a chance at them. Had to get creative and found some at a local botanical garden. This is a wild (but domesticated) flamingo habituated to a stocked pond at the garden.

Thanks as always for valued teachings on previous posts.

David, this is really nice man. Pretty color pop off the dark bkg and love the water droplet on the tip of the beak.

I love the tight portrait and think you did well in composition from my view. Only minor suggestion is taking a look at a version slightly more left in frame.

    Well done!

Hi David .... can only echo Brianīs thoughts here .
Like to add a suggestion ... the professor think you can add a bit more exposure to the subject and specially open the beak area a bit more .

And I think this is by far the best posting in terms of IQ and technical output that you posted for a longer while .
Really like it a lot on that front !!!!

Astute gentlemen, tried both your suggestions and liked the way the curves filled the frame and the dark bill with hint of water sheen showed best in this version for my taste. Of course I'm sure it can look different depending on Monitor and calibration. Truly grateful for all your valued inputs. Please keep them coming.

Ah, that answers my question. Super sharp. I am with Sump Scores in thinking that some off the left would be more :). The tones on on the bill look perfect. I am a big fan of black BLACKs :)
