Spent the last couple days shooting swallows so guess they're the next "series"... shoot what you have, right?
Anyhoo, here's another from the local area. Barn Swallow.

Terrific pose and I don't mind the angled light. I'm not the one to comment on sharpness!
Having tried and generally failed to get a inflight swallow shot- respect.
Awesome capture Jay, well done, they are not easy to capture and you got it pin sharp congrats. Nice color too
Jay, such a sweet canvas and composition. The fully splayed dorsal view is awesome and I like the spattering of blue and orange in the bkg.
For me, there is just a touch of motion blur on the head which makes this an 'almost'. Not to take away from the great technique just to get this.

love the dynamic pose, super! the head is sharp and doesn't have motion blur but the double catchlight gives that impression, I'd fix it
in a super perfect world you'd get more iridescence on the top side

Awesome pose and a very hard get... Love the colors. TFS
Hi Jay ... again a really cool shot of yours .
Must be very hard to get , and you did slight better to achieve some sort of sharpness .
Colors looking good .
Wondering what others see in terms of sharpness and the details on the darker parts .... it is lacking sharpness , tonal range and has tons of noise , specially in the dark flat areas . Just my take ...
Might be a very large crop that is causing the majority of the issues , that I do see .
Nevertheless I lift my hat for your field work .
TFS Andreas
Looks like motion blur on the head to me (but what the heck do I know?)
Same question as for the one above: how large a crop? Yes to a stunning pose with the bird's back being somewhat in the dark ...
with love, artie
