Perhaps a little naughty in achieving the very low POV, however...

When you can get a good technique in shooting at low SS, it is surprising what can be a achieved compared to the latest bits of kit for IS available now and especially when you consider the weight aspect.

Thanks to those who posted or viewed on the last posting.

    Dear Steve,

Really cool to grab a shot of Mr Pointy with such nice POV, love the eye, great to see the horn, that grass in the FG gives context.

I like the composition too. Not bothered by that bit of ear missing because I find the frame to be well balanced, focus is on the eye and light is just stunning.

BG nice and soft, good detail in the shadows. I see clearly you practice what you preach - less is more, things must look natural and unaltered.

Love it, thank you so much for sharing!

PS. I still remember you asking me some seven or eight years ago (whew, has it been that long?): ' Gabriela, look again at your image...where does the light come from ?'

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Nice to have you back, so I thought a Mr Pointy needed to be posted.

Hasn’t time flown and thank again for all the lovely words.

Think we need some of your images posted soon, even some ‘Cub’ pictures???

    Thank you so much Steve,
Indeed time is flying... but such a pleasure to be able to view your images again on the 'big screen'

Finally settled in my new home and attempting some PP work, a bit rusty so I am in for some heavy critique for sure

    'Cub pictures'... working on it

    Have a wonderful weekend,

No rush Steve, we have all the time in the world.
Sent you some images, not my best but going to share some here in the Forum, see what the folk think.
PS Hope no flooding there. My Mom in Romania tells me it is raining cats and dogs there too. Wish we had some rain here in SA...

Hi Steve ... lovely textures in the hide and overall cool color / tone appearance in your posting .
Wish the grass was not in front of the jaw .

Nicely processed as expected , specially when having the used techs in mind .

A fine shot, processing spot one.
(Would have not been even half as difficult with Olympus)

Weight and in general expedience ~ size, weight, central control panel, stabilisation & speed because of manageability it is so much quicker to get the shot.
Even now I am still surprised how easy it is to get "difficult images" (e.g. dragonfly in macro forum - you see it, several feet away in the pond... too far away? - no - you lie down focus, point and shoot... and it just works).
