This Florida native (mottled duck) was loving swimming through the field grass.

Hi David, I like this as it shows clearly the subject & habitat. Colours look good, but personally I feel it needs more below, it's just too tight at the foot and shot at f/5.6 if you can with that lens. The eye and surrounding area is a tad dark to me, opening this up helps, but if you have used DNAI on the 'baked tiff' you are screwed. If you have also added some 'perceptual sharpening' on top of any within DNAI at this stage too, I feel it's just a fraction too much based on the eye and surrounding area again, the key point of interest.

Ahhh, the other professor... Hi Steve, tried with my very poor PP acumen to address the stated issues. Started from scratch with only Denoise in my DPP defaults. Hope this addresses the issues... Thanks as always for the very astute and valued inputs.

Hi David, I think the subject is better IMHO, but I prefer the depth of the environment in the OP, so a blend of the two, this is where layers & masks become invaluable. The added content below really helps.

Is it time to invest in a floating blind, if you do... let me know, I know a fantastic make.

Somewhere in between (hopefully)... Floating blind... Not for Florida ponds... Alligators in almost all fresh water... Thanks again, mate.

David, I like the peek-a-boo effect here. Won't win any awards probably but fun and I like the use of 1/3s in the repost; the eye is in the right spot IMO.

Agree with Steve's comments on the dark areas in the op and the rp presents better. Interesting what was going on with that beak area you repaired? Almost looks like a chunk missing?

Hi David ... here is the professor

I do agree with the others about the nice " peek-a-boo " effect of this capture .

My " colleague " gave you good advice and you done better with your RP ....
