Thanks for commenting on my previous image of this scene. After a few seconds, the sandpiper used its wings to keep even better balance due to a few larger wavelets that moved the perch even more up and down. You can see water droplets from its belly having dipped in the water. I thought for sure it was going to fly to shore but after retaining balance it stayed put for a few more moments.

Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/1250s., f/9, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, small crop to help the comp, toned down the brighter whites (funnily enough as posted the only clipped highlights are the yellows on the bill but I could never have guessed). NR to the BG.

    WOW Daniel. This is gorgeous.
Love the soft blues in the water, the perfect pose, great light and the droplets.
No nits from me. Wish this was mine

I think you mean, "trying to balance part Ca-dieux"????

Man, this is really good Daniel. Gorgeous wing pos and lovely detail. Love the light equally as much as the former and the droplets.... yes please.

Can't see how to improve this one my friend!

This is really nice Dan, and when you consider that the gear is late 2014, it proves, it's not the gear, but the operator that delivers the image. This is certainly up there with some of the images taken with the latest kit, well done!

Great. Now I don't know which one I like the most. But, would take either any day. Love the water drops between the feet and the belly.
