    For the last of this series had to get Mom with one of the first images created as I first spotted this family. Spotted the chicks out in the open near the path around the lake. Ran my bike off the path away from the water, grabbed the rig and laid flat. Meanwhile, Mom ran just under a lakeside cocoplum and diligently called for her brood to follow. As I raised the rig, Mom was guarding right at the edge of the cocoplum cover. Not the cleanest image but loved the behavioral aspect. Critical focus point was on Mom's eye.

    I could see this cropped from the left. Burn down that foreground. The graduated filter in Lightroom would work great.

    Hey David, I find the foreground to light and distracting, but otherwise a really nice pic
