Hi folks ... image taken back in 2015 on Helgoland Island
Loved the golden light while staying that evening on the cliffs , just wish the shadow ( created by another Gannet ) on the right subject was not there .... tried to make it less obvious but it did not look good enough . So I left the shadow in ...

Beautiful image Andreas. Love the composition, lighting and processing. The shadow is a shame, but that's life! I've been out most days photographing juvenile Gannets, but the adults have not made their presence yet!

Lovely shot, I can feel that late afternoon atmosphere. You did well to get the separation from the rest of the colony.
I've been in a nesting crowd of Gannets and it was near impossible to get a clean shot.

Andreas, man such sweet light. Really great moment you captured of the interaction.

Beautifully processed my friend. I agree on the shadows, that is my main issue with it but so much else to like.

    Thank you.

Light and interaction carry this frame, for sure. The shadows are unfortunate, but it looks like you might have fallen into the drink if you tried to get the light directly behind you! Low angle is nice, even if stuff in foreground is slightly distracting. Processing on whites and blacks looks great!

The light makes this one, hands down. Great interaction as well. Nice background.
