Hi folks .... this image is not a piece of art
    More a nature´s document ....
Yellow billed Kite walking around a Elephant carcass , in search of fly maggots or something similar . As there were plenty on the ground and the carcass ....
Was hoping he would hop onto the Elephant foot .... but he did not .

A wonderful wildlife image that is a piece of art in my book... Your image making always delights and the PP always so "natural". TFS Professor

Interesting bit of wildlife documentation. Great view of the kite, with good POV.

Super shot Andreas I like it as presented, but perhaps just a little flat?? I attach one for your consideration - is it a little too colourful??

Nice image with cool details, perhaps somewhere between the two, but I think the curled feather should go.

David ... thanks so much , the " professor " in me is happy about your used wording

Jon ... yes to your thoughts , but would restrict it to the subject .

Steve ... the feather can go

Nice sharp look at this bird! It took me a second to realize the elephant leg wasn't a log, so that adds to the image as well. Lighting is what it is with sun peaking through at left, and I think you got the best frame you could given that limitation.
If you clone the curled feather, I'd also do the single brightest poop on the bottom of the elephant's foot, just above the bird's back.

I love the natural history scene depicted here. The elephant leg adds so much - I love it. Do you have more at left? Did this carcass attract many other scavengers?

Thanks Dorian and Daniel for your comments ...

Dorian - well I could remove the things you said .

Daniel - little more room to left and top is in the original capture and it was not that busy at the carcass while I was there , a few other birds and one Hyena .

  10. Thanks Daniel Cadieux thanked for this post

Image quality looks excellent. I would think an elephant carcass would attract alot more scavengers than that. Detail is superb.
