Nothing to get too excited about, check out the mown grass!! This is an image I got whilst checking my AF settings at a raptor workshop.

Just to be clear this was a CAPTIVE bird.

I'd say those AF settings working fine... I love the gliding pose so close to the ground and your processing is spot on. TFS

Nice look at this handsome owl. Raptor workshops are a great way to hone one's skills.

One of the better ones Jon and it shows Olympus can 'deliver'.

Seriously good call on the DoF and I like the slight angle, sharp with good detail, nice one, you must be pleased.

Hi Jon ... nice flight shot .
Hope you found the right AF settings after the session .
Sharpness and detail looking good ... albeit I think the white face feathers can go lighter and less blue . Have you sharpened the grass in the FG as well ?? At least it looks like ....

Andreas I usually apply a sharp mask - maybe I didn't mask in this case.

Settings look fine from here! I though this guy might have been cruising over a golf course or something given the grass! I agree with Andreas about the white on the face, but that's pretty minor in the grand scheme.

Hi Jon, captive or not, this is a fine shot. I really love these guys, and you have brought out the detail on the face so well. What a great subject to test your settings.

A low flier this owl was. Nice view of that face though.
