Was up at Madera Canyon at the feeders. I added a flower to the shepherds hook hoping they would hit it and it ftook a few, but the finally gave me a couple looks. No flash was used. Natural light BG.

I'd say that setup and your patience paid off. Perfectly composed with wonderful details and color throughout. The hint of motion also works great for me. TFS

Love this shot. So simple in design and bold in color.

Wings back works nicely and super sharp eye and details are sweet. Beautiful flora too.

    Well done Kurt!

That is a close up Hummer.. Very nice natural light (the best kind). Sharp and flowers are not overwhelming...

Hi Kurt ... very nice overall shot of the very attractive species .
Nice colors and tones , well framed with good solid sharpness and good range of detail showing up .
Good pose and nice wing stroke .

It seems very obvious to me , that most of you folks from the US prefer ( from my POV ) quite strong or denser blacks ... actually those areas looking better when opened in PS .

This looks really good Kurt. Love the lighting, flower, and BG. Shocked the wings aren't sharper at 1/6400, but I guess that's why folks end up doing multiflash on these guys. Details on the body are excellent.

That is interesting idea to add flower the feeder.

I think you can raise the shadow a bit and rest looks really nice.

Pretty neat to till see movement in those wings tips at 6400sec. Nice the bird and flower are sharp. Going to have to try that here.
