    Hi Folks:

Another Hummingbird on the infamous perch that I and everyone else didn't like with the Broad-billed Hummingbird on :D In case you didn't go back I finally took your advice and removed the right side of the perch, at least gave it a go. This bird co-operated and sat on the good part  Thanks for all your C &C's

Hmmm...I'm guessing head-angle police may say something so I'll leave it to them :D

The bird looks very sharp and I think that may be because of the strong flash light. But I think a softer light would be better.

The first thing that struck me about this was the sharpness....may even be a bit too sharp?? Did you add sharpening? I really like the pose you caught, have no problem with the perch, and find the colors pleasing. Looks like the head is not quite as sharp as the back and wing....did you check to see where your actual focus point was? Nice shot!

Gus, another lovely hummer! The slight overflash gives it a different look which I actually quite like!

I like the pose and the background, would prefer a softer light.

Hi Gus When you say fill flash guess you are using the term loosely :D:) That bird has been blasted !!!!

When photographing in shade and soft light do ge easy on the flash In full sun you can actually blast since you are trying to fill in harsh shadows. One other point is the head angle Does work best with the head more parallel to the plane. Looks like you are going to have some fun with these guys !!! Do like the perch a lot better !!!!

Hi Folks: Like your gentle C & C . . . As usual you are right on the money, and my slight smart sharpening turned out to be blasted!, as Al's terminology was very descriptive, and woke me up . . . Thanks Folks . .
    Gus :D. Here's the original, cropped & resized only . . .

    Hi Gus,
I like the original post better than your repost' even though the first one is a littled cooked and a wee bit over sharpened. The repost is too soft and the eye is fuzzy...Nice composition...:)

I agree with Gus C; I like the original more than the repost. Don't want to lose the sharpness of the head. The original does look a bit much but not sure of what. The green on lots of these hummers really sparkles in the light and seems hard to control in an image. Quickly looks somewhat artificial.
I like the position and the new perch.
