    Default Malachite Kingfisher - Juvie

I visited a wetlands south of Johannesburg a little while back. The place is full of different subjects. This Juvie Malachite paid a visit in front of the hide/blind and I managed to get a few images. They are busy characters, so they don't stick around for long. I was lucky to get him with a slight separation between the beak and the perch. The adult Malachite has a full red beak, and completely red feet too.

nice bird Stu, love those colors wish the bill was not so close to the end of the perch, if he had only perched a bit higher....

Stu, such a simple yet elegant frame. How does one not find themselves enamored with the stunning colors on this beauty?

Love the dorsal view and applaud you for getting a touch of separation from the branch. I do find myself wishing for a bit more though.

Also glad there was a little moss/grass on the branch to give it a little character. Sweet blue and orange background (PS - those are the colors of our beloved Denver Broncos :-D )

Ooh you are so lucky Mr B, gorgeous, but agree with Arash, just a tad more between bill & perch.

Hi Stu .... killer bird and beautifully processed !!!
I could just dive into those finest details showing up .... way better than ....

The placement on the perch might be not ideal .... but I can greatly overlook that , as the subject is just too cool .
