    Default Juvie White Bellied Sunbird

My previous post of two White Fronted Bee-eaters, was describing this location of having Bee-eaters at the back of the nursery, and Sunbirds frequenting the Aloes in the actual nursery. Here is a Juvie White Bellied Sunbird just about to takeoff from an Aloe plant. There are no hides/blinds. One just needs to keep still, wait for any Sunbird to perch on an Aloe to feed, and fire away. These guys are very busy and skittish, so you need to be quick. Taken early morning.

Very nice. Neat bird and setting and sharp. Great that you got the bird positioned right in the middle of the V made by the two stalks. Love the sparkle of the incoming feathers and the perfect pose and head angle.

Lovely light and angle on the bird. It'd be quite a major change, but I'd consider losing some of the middle stalk as I feel it overpowers the subject a little

Beautiful bird on a colorful perch. Nice framing. The colors all go very nicely with one another.

Stu, such a pretty frame man. You got so many pieces right, a colorful and unique perch (when you get get flowers AS the perch, that's mega), rich and colorful bkg and a super pose. Don't mention the pure light.

Yeah, those iridescent feathers really chime in well. The way the beak curves over the middle bloom is excellent for framing.

I totally appreciate the purity of the frame. If you wanted to take a step into the extreme PP realm I might consider lessening the presence of the brown stalks on the left. But man, I'd take this in a heartbeat.

So nice to see you post!

What a pretty and colorful frame! Love the bird too - never seen any bee-eater but that's great. I'd probably lose the middle stalk as well - maybe even the far right one. But love that it's a lovely pink. It adds given the background. TFS.

Absolutely superb Stu, sharpening is ideal, details and colours are perfect.
The flower head bottom right - perhaps it would have less impact if there was a little de-sharpening or blurring of some kind.

Thanks for the kind words Andreas. As Steve K has mentioned " It’s ALL about what you do with the tools and not, which brand of tool you use " I have to make do with what I have. Imagine if I owned the latest kit.

LOL Stu, you are absolutly right, but hey bud, when we next hook up you can 'test drive' some new kit, I'll make sure, but in the meantime, please post more often.

A beautiful shot with great comp and lovely light. The pose is terrific, and the sparkles add interest. I'd take this with or without the middle stalk.
