Love the expression you managed to get Artie! The open beak, the "hairdo", details and BG are all great! I am back and forth about the crop. I kind of like the uniqueness of it, but I also find myself wondering how it would look going a bit tighter loosing some off the right and bottom?

I like the comp and the spike hairdo..I would clone heal the green patch at the top.

Thanks, Kurt. I did my best with he crop. As I said on the blog, this bird landed right in front of me for four seconds and I had a fixed lens ...

I'm a huge headshot fan, so this sits well with me. Open beak and spiky hair add interest, and I agree about cloning the green blog.
f/4 limited you here since you got the wing and face but not the neck. Don't know how much light you had to spare on the ISO/DOF front, but probably not much!
