This is from my set up....The light was filtered by the surrounding trees...A lot more leaves on the trees here now...which makes for a darker BG. Tripod. ACR, Topaz DN and PS2021.

PS ...This is another perch I brought back with me from the Red Grouse Glen

Beautiful setup Will. Love the background and the details on the bird are fantastic. Not sure about all the lichens keep looking at it and really can't make up my mind if it is overdone. In this case less might be better. Really a minor pick for such a fantastic image. TFS.

Pin sharp with perfect exposure, not sure if the cone adds or subtracts value to the pic, but if you cropped it out you would loose too much space, so tough one. But thats just nit picking still a spectacular pic

Fantastic Will. You and your outstanding set ups (just a little jealous).

Beautifully exposed, colorful as can be. Great catching one with the open beak. And the pine cone is such a sweet touch.

Don't think I would change a thing. A+ for me sir!

Perfect bird, pose, perch, and BKGR. And the tones of the BKGR pick up the tans and browns of the plumage.

Love this one Will! The subject is perfectly exposed, the open beak is great, the perch is awesome and the pinecone sends it over the top for me. Great job!

Beautiful image Will, the bird looks spot on, I like the perch (though from a purist point of view not terribly likely you would see a goldfinch on such a perch - only mentioned it from a competition POV)

Looks great all around. Really dig that perch with all the lichen and the pinecone. Detail on the bird is excellent.
