Taken Last week at Nickerson...I was waiting for this handoff.....and as you can tell there was a lot of vegetation. Mark 3 with the Sigma 300-800mm lens and the 1.4 tele maxed out at 1120mm. Set at ISO 800 and f11 for 1/800 sec. Flash was set......but did not fire. 80% full frame and grass removed out the parents back....which went all the way into the BG chick. I debated that one for a while.........decided to magically prune it! Catchlightalso added to parents eye only. Too much??

Great moment captured. The postprocessing looks fine. The biggest problem is that the critical focus seems to be in front of the birds.

    Hi Roman,

Aren't they cute!! I have to agree with Axel. The sand is sharper. :(

What a great opportunity Roman to see these little chicks. This a touching moment and I love the composition . Agree with above comments on the focus. Thanks for sharing this capture.

Tender moment. Agree with the issue pointed out. Also like the habitat included and the OOF chick in the back :)

Great job on the post processing, Roman - I agree with you on taking out some of the vegetation and adding a little catchlight to the adult's eye. And you captured a great moment - you waited a long time for that one! Also like the composition with the other baby in the bg.

Too bad for the mis-focus issue mentioned above. The timing was absolutely perfect with the chick's bill around the fish just about to grab it.
