I have been having some issues with my back lately, so instead of getting out to shoot, I've had some time to go through some old files and see if I can find a few I never processed. Here's one I found yesterday.

Kurt, I hate to say this but the perch looks great but the plumage in the bird doesn't look right at all to me. Could it be anything to do with NR or sharpening??

Thanks John and I agree. After I posted it I noticed it didn't look right, but I don't know how to delete a post. I do think the NR did a job on it. I need to start reading a bit more on how to use Topaz DeNoise, because I noticed it also causes posterization on some gradient BGs.

Very nice. Pose, framing, background and light are all spot on. Also like that thorny perch.

Killer bird, pose, and framing - though I could see a version with slightly more room around the subject. There is, sadly, something very off with the feather detail. The perch looks pretty good, so I'm not sue what happened with the bird. Lovely head angle and eye contact regardless!

the problem is the image has been compressed quite a bit. It's only 400KB which means it has no fine details....you need to play with the compression sliders to make the image just a touch below 600KB...this much compression and it goes straight to the bin :D
